Fun with Food Webs
This website will let you practice with food webs.
There are three food webs to choose from.
Remember in food chains and webs, the arrow always points toward the mouth of the animal who is eating.

Junkyard Analysis

With this website you dig up things with a bulldozer.  Then drop it in the machine to find out what the object is made of and decide whether it will make a mixture or a solution with the water.
Remember: A mixture is two or more substances that are mixed together, but can be separated out because their atoms are not combined. A solution is a a mixture in which substances break up into their most basic particles, which are too small to be seen, and spread evenly through another substance

Renewable, Non-renewable, and Inexhaustible Resources
This website lets you drop objects into one of three holes: renewable, non-renewable, or inexhaustible resources.
If you don’t know what an object represents, hold your mouse over it and the name of the object will pop up.

Build-A-Fish
This website lets you choose the location and adaptations for a fish.  Then test you fish to see if it would survive.
Try to build a fish that can survive in each environment.  Think about what advantages there are to the body types you choose.

Food Chain
On this website you will create and test a food chain. 
Then see the effects of removing an element in the food chain.
Remember that in food chains the arrow points to the mouth of the animal eating (or receiving energy.) 

Disease Detectives
Become a disease detective at this site. 
Use clues about the people who contracted the disease and discover what caused this new disease.

Although this website is very interesting, it is difficult.  Don’t feel bad if you don’t know the cause!  This website is to help you learn.

Moon Phases
Are you confused about the phases of the moon?  If you are, this website can help.
You can change the point of view to:
Top view- the view from space
Earth view- the view from the Earth
Both- See how they relate by watching both at the same time.
You can animate it and watch it go through the phases on it own, or you can type a value representing the phase you want to look at and press enter.

Optics Workbench
On this link, you’ll need to click “begin game” and then click “maybe later.”
Click a light source and drag it into the blue area.  Start with the single laser and leave the light white at first.
Then drag a convex, concave, or polygon shape into the field.  Aim the laser at the shape.
Be sure to play with different optical shape properties and the lens types.

Element Math Game
This website will test your knowledge of the periodic table.  How well can you interpret the numbers on the periodic table?
You must use your math and science skills on this website.

Freeform Measuring
Practice measuring with this website. 
Which form of measurement is best for the object?  Kilometers, centimeters, or something else? Make sure to check which ruler you have the right one. 

Travel Game
This website will help you work on your estimating skills.
You will choose a starting point and a destination from cities in the United States.  Then you will estimate the distance between them. 
If your estimate is close enough you will earn more gas for your trip!  See if you can make it to all the cities on the map.

This website has a game like Battleship.
You place your quarks, or markers, on the board then try to guess where your opponents placed theirs.
You have to input your coordinates and locate the computers coordinates on the board.
You can also play against a friend instead of the computer!

Sentence Clubhouse
This website helps you practice recognizing sentence type.
For each question you get right, you get a new piece of a clubhouse.
You also have to know what you do to the first letter of a sentence and what type of punctuation each sentence will need.
