Philosophy

The faculty and administration of Bulverde Creek Elementary are committed to providing a quality instructional program for all students. We embrace the philosophy of Dr. Ernest L. Boyer, author of The Basic School: A Community for Learning. Dr. Boyer believed that the most essential ingredient of a successful school, and the one idea that holds it all together, is "connections". An effective school connects people to create community ... connects the curriculum to achieve coherence ... connects classrooms and resources to enrich the learning climate, and ... connects learning to life to build character (p.7-8). Parents are always welcome to visit our classrooms and observe learning in action. We do ask that you call the office to schedule classroom visitations. Stopping by without an appointment breaks the flow and routine of instruction. We know that through cooperative effort between home and school, our students will have a profitable learning experience.
