May 14, 2012 Eight athletes from three NEISD high schools competed in the UIL State Track and Field Championships this past Saturday, May 12, 2012 at Mike Myers Stadium on the campus of the University of Texas in Austin. Qualifiers for this meet included: Natalie Langan, from Johnson HS, in both the 3200 M run and 1600 M run; Carnae Dillard, from Johnson HS, in the Triple Jump; Erin Orozco, also from Johnson HS, in the Pole Vault; Taylor Martinez, from Churchill HS, in the High Jump; Yasmyn Richards, from Madison HS, in the 100 M Dash; James Liburd, also from Madison, in the Triple Jump; Cameron Williams, from Johnson HS, in the 200 M Dash and Jordan Worthington, from Churchill HS, who qualified for the state meet in both the Pole Vault and Long Jump. Jordan Worthington won a bronze medal by finishing 3rd in the Pole Vault. Natalie Langan finished 4th in both the 3200 M Run and the 1600 M Run and James Liburd finished 6th in the Triple Jump. Congratulations to these athletes, as well as all the athletes that qualified for the state track meet. |
