Matt Carroll Named Football Coach at Roosevelt

On Monday night, March 18, Matt Carroll was approved as the new athletic coordinator and head football coach at Roosevelt High School.  Coach Carroll comes back to North East after spending the last several years in the Waco ISD system as the head football coach at University High School. Coach Carroll is joined by his wife Dawn and two sons, 8th grader Bryson and 1st grader Brenner.  He has assumed his duties at Roosevelt High School effective Tuesday, March 19.

Matt Carroll began his coaching career at Roosevelt High School as an assistant on the 1995 football team that won the state championship.  After several years at Roosevelt, he moved to Reagan High School where he also worked as an assistant coach.  Coach Carroll has a reputation of being a “players coach”.  The North East athletic department welcomes Matt Carroll and his family to the Roosevelt community and wishes him a successful stay in Rough Rider country.
