| Community Service, or service
learning as it is also called, is a vehicle to strengthen students'
learning by reconnecting them with their communities. For students,
learning what it means to live as a citizen in a free society, and as
a truly compassionate and caring human being, community service is a graduation requirement for Academy students. It enhances what
is taught in the classroom and extends learning beyond the classroom
to allow students to use their academic skills to provide service to
the community. Community service transforms students from passive to
active learners.
