| The
Academy of Creative Education is a non-traditional high school
providing at-risk students with a unique learning environment
for the completion of their high school diploma. Those
candidates closest to fulfilling graduation requirements will be
considered first.
To qualify for admission, students
must have:
- Completed 12 or more credits
- Passed all 10th grade TAKS
- Be at least 16 years old
Recommendation from your NEISD
home school is REQUIRED for ACE candidates.
See your counselor or administrator from your home school for a
recommendation and an
application before contacting ACE
directly. ACE will NOT accept applicants without the
recommendation and
application completed by a counselor or
administrator from your home school.
*Do not
withdraw from your home school until you have been accepted at
ACE*
Once you have properly filled
out the ACE
application, your home school counselor or
administrator will then sign the
application, and submit it,
along with a copy of your full transcript and
Professional Graduation Plan (PGP) to our office via
inter-district mail (PONY).
Once received, your
application
will be reviewed, and it will be determined whether you meet the
requirements needed to attend ACE. If it is determined
that you meet the requirements, you will need to come in for an
interview.
*One or two days
after your application is sent by your home school counselor to
our office, call our office at 210-657-8970 to set up an
interview with our counselor.
At the end of the interview
process, our counselor will determine whether you meet the
guidelines needed to become an ACE student. If accepted,
you will then be scheduled for orientation. Orientations
are held approximately every 4 weeks depending on enrollment.
In order to participate in
orientation, the following must have been submitted to our
office:
- Complete
Application Form
(Signed and submitted by your home school counselor or
administrator)
- Current High School
Transcript (Submitted with application)
- PGP - Personal Graduation
Plan (Submitted with application)
- Signature or Parent/Guardian
