North East ISD - JROTC The Superintendent's Trophy
The Superintendent’s Trophy was initiated in school year 87 – 88 and is designed to recognize the District High School JROTC unit that excels in overall performance for a specific number of activities or events throughout the school year. The trophy is a traveling trophy presented at the end of the school year. The initial trophy winner was Douglas MacArthur followed by 12 years of continuous wins by Theodore Roosevelt. MacArthur then began a five year domination of competition until Churchilll and MacArthur High Schools tied for trophy honors in school year 2006-2007. For the last four years the MacArthur Battalion has won the trophy bringing its total wins to eleven.
The Superintendent’s Trophy in school year 2011-2012 will be a composition of twelve competitive elements evaluating and measuring the knowledge, skills, discipline, fitness and performance of individual cadets and performances of the total battalion corps of cadets in forming the teams and representing their respective campus.
