Retirees are honored at a retirement reception each school year. Retirees for the 2016-2017 school year are invited to a reception on May 30, 2017 at the Community Learning Center, Room 217 from 4:30 to 5:40 p.m. At the reception retirees will be recognized and receive a gift of appreciation from the Superintendent and Executive Staff.
The 2016 Trinity Prize nominee is Javier Melendez, 5th grade teacher, Bulverde Creek Elementary. Mr. Melendez says “One of the most gratifying things about teaching fifth graders is that they enter the year with a sense of leadership. They are the oldest students in the school. Harnessing that sense of leadership and watching it grow is one of my ultimate joys as a teacher. I get to witness my students work with their kindergarten and second grade buddies. They get to learn from their struggles and celebrate their successes."
