college/university FIELD EXPERIENCE students (17+ hOURS)
North East Independent School District supports colleges and university teacher preparation programs, which require the completion of field experience hours. College/university students must complete an online profile to request 17 hours or more of field experience. The applicant’s background will be checked and clearance must be approved prior to processing a request. Opportunities for observations are only available from September 8 thru April 17. Students may not report to a campus on STARR testing dates. The District will make every effort to accommodate all student requests; however, the school reserves the right to adjust the dates and times based on the school calendar.
STUDENTS: Please contact your university or college if you are interested in a placement at a campus in North East ISD. Your university or college must complete a Field Experience Request Form and submit it to the Human Resources Department for approval.
The NEISD Human Resources Department must approve all requests for field placements. Please follow the steps below to request field experiences of 17 hours or more:
Step 1. The University Coordinator should submit all field experience requests to the Human Resources Specialist by completing a Field Experience Request Form.
NOTE: STUDENTS SHOULD NOT CONTACT THE CAMPUS OR THE DISTRICT OFFICE. The request should list details of the placement and should be emailed to the Human Resources Specialist, Davilyn Tate, at email@example.com.
Step 2. Direct your students to complete a Field Experience Request Form and an online profile. Click here for step by step instructions to create a profile. Inform your field experience students that a criminal background check will be completed, which must be cleared prior to working with students.
Step 3. The HR Specialist will notify the University Coordinator once the student has been approved and assigned to a campus. The University Coordinator will be responsible for communicating the placement to the field experience student.
Step 1. Contact the University Coordinator to submit a Field Experience Request Formto the Human Resources Specialist. The request should list details of the placement and may be emailed to the Human Resources Specialist, Davilyn Tate, at firstname.lastname@example.org.
Step 2. All students requesting Field Experience (17+ Hours) are required to complete a Field Experience Request Form and create an online profile. When the profile process has been completed, the Human Resources Department will complete a criminal background, which must be cleared prior to working with students. Step 3. The University Coordinator will notify the field experience student of their placement.
