Walzem Receives 2014 Lowe's Toolbox for education Grant

Walzem Elementary School has been selected by Lowe's Toolbox for Education Grant to tie the science, math, reading, health and art curriculum together in a cohesive, meaningful manner by building an outdoor learning classroom. The entire campus is excited about creating the dynamic learning environment.

In addition, Walzem will incorporate seven raised garden beds along with a "Little Free Library." The school hopes to encourage its students to not only participate in science activities in the classroom, but to use the space for art lessons, as well as a reading and writing space. Walzem will build the structure over the course of the year with the help of Eagle Scouts, faculty members, and Rackspace employees/school partners.
