Reagan Orchestra student invited to Chamber Music Festival

Lana St. Clair celebrates her win with her director.

Lana celebrates her latest musical achievement with Sixto Elizondo IV,
orchestra director.

Reagan High School Orchestra student Lana St. Clair performed the Lalo Symphony Espagnole at UIL State Solo and Ensemble contest at UT Austin on Saturday, May 24. Her performance was awarded a first division, superior rating. She was also named an "Outstanding Performer" for her rendering of the selection.

This is a remarkable achievement in light of the exacting standards of adjudication set by UIL for TSSEC. Her performance was so impressive to judge Eka Gogichashvili that she invited Lana to be one of 8 violinists from around the country to participate in the fifteenth annual Baylor University Chamber Music Conference this summer.

The goal of the conference is to give accomplished young musicians a very high-level and rigorous quartet experience, and a chance to play some of the greatest string chamber literature. Her quartet will perform the Ravel String Quartet in F major on June 14th. The recital will include all conference participants and will begin at 1:00 p.m. in the Armstrong Browning Library at Baylor University.
