NEISD officially purchased 78 acres in the old Longhorn Quarry to construct a second sports complex. The site, bought for $12.68 million, will house a football stadium with 8-lane track, baseball stadium and bus transportation facility. This second sports complex will help relieve scheduling difficulty at NEISD's Blossom Athletic Center, especially when the district opens Johnson High School next school year.
