Encino Park Elementary students and teachers conducted a TAKS Deal or No Deal pep rally to gear-up for the Texas Assessment of Knowledge and Skills (TAKS) test, which starts March 5. The pep rally was designed to encourage students to strive for a commended rating on the TAKS test. Teachers held briefcases that contained good and bad strategies that students can use when taking a test. Principal Colleen Bohrmann also played the banker role. Pictured are the good strategies that were shown during the pep rally: revise and edit your paper, take your time, process of elimination, prove it, get the gist, use your voice, eat a good breakfast and go to bed early, organize your thoughts and ideas and stay on topic.
