Students in the fifth grade Gifted and Talented Program at Hardy Oak Elementary decided to make a difference in the global village this year by raising funds to purchase a heifer from Heifer International. Students learned how to project manage, advertise and give a gift that would keep on giving. They discovered that the gift of a heifer could truly makes a difference to a family on the other side of the world. Requesting each student in the school to donate 75 cents, students raised a total of $544.94 in their fundraiser. "I am proud of their giving spirits," said Mrs. Beazley, Hardy Oak teacher.
