Known as a track meet for the hands, students at Longs Creek Elementary School participate in the World Sport Stacking Association STACK UP! event. More than 600 schools and youth organizations world-wide worked together on Nov. 8, 2007 to set a new Guinness World Record of "Most People Sport Stacking at Multiple Locations in One Day." At Longs Creek, more than 800 students "up stacking and down stacking" 12 specially-designed cups called Speed Stacks in predetermined patterns as fast as they can. Stackers race against the clock and compete in relays.
