Encino Park celebrates staff member, welcomes Toro

Encino Park custodian becomes American citizen

On May 12, Encino Park Elementary School staff and students had the honor of congratulating their head custodian, Oralia Contreras, for passing the test to receive her American citizenship. Oralia has been serving North East ISD for 10 years, with 8 of those being at Encino Park. Students and staff lined the library with banners, flags, and patriotic hats. Music played, cheers were yelled, and proud tears fell. Oralia is an integral part of the campus and everyone was beyond excited to celebrate this accomplishment with her.

Toro spreads anti-bullying message at Encino Park

Toro, the mascot for the Houston Texas, paid a visit to Encino Park Elementary School. He spoke to the students about different types of bullying and the ways to stop and prevent them. Students were treated to messages from various Texans football players and cheerleaders while Toro kept them excited and engaged. A few lucky students earned special t-shirts, and every student went home with a special anti-bullying activity resource.
