Garner Middle School students started their morning bright and early last Friday for the fourth annual STAAR motivational pep rally.
Garner faculty and staff are crazy for their students and it showed as teachers wore wacky wigs and crazy costumes. There were mad scientists, Cinco de Mayo outfits with sombreros, Frida Krahlo in the audience, as well as ELAR teachers wearing STAAR Wars shirts with lots of noise makers filling the air with energy.
The MacArthur High School drum line and cheerleaders led the way to a fantastic morning of fun. University of Texas at San Antonio athletes and cheerleaders motivated students by sharing that hard work leads to achieving your dreams. The crowd erupted with excitement as Rowdy the Roadrunner grooved to the beat of the MacArthur drumline. The Mac Brahma and Rowdy were sliding along the gym floor and dancing. Students were so excited with one side of the gym chanting against the other.
Garner Yearlings were shining STAARS as the Brahmas, Roadrunners, and Garner faculty and staff showed support and school spirit.
Martha Diaz, Family Specialist, and the Garner Parental Involvement Committee coordinated this final fun event of the school year.
