Larkspur students to benefit from caring donation

Larkspur Elementary School kicked off its morning to some fantastic news. Share Our Strength, a national organization that collects donations to support school meal programs, invited one of its national corporate sponsors, Church’s Chicken, to observe a school breakfast program at North East ISD. School Nutrition Services hosted the visit at Larkspur to give the special guests an opportunity to see how the program works and benefits children. The visit concluded with Church’s Chicken donating $500 to go towards students that do not have funds to pay for their meal.

Share Our Strength Senior Manager, Kate Steele, Church’s Chicken Marketing Coordinator, Victoria Vela, and Church’s Chicken Market Leader, Jonathan Starr, were impressed with the school breakfast program at the campus. Students at Larkspur even have the option to visit the Grab and Go Breakfast Cart for a fast and healthy bite before class. Larkspur administration, staff and students are truly thankful for this caring donation from Church’s Chicken, made possible by Share Our Strength and the No Kid Hungry campaign.
