Night Gallery showcases NEISD's top artists

Did you ever want to see a giant paper mache elephant, an apron almost completely made out of candy wrappers, or a painting that nearly brings you to tears with its beauty? Well, Night Gallery is the event for you. The North East ISD art exhibit featuring selected works from middle and high school art students opened for its first night on April 12. You still have a chance to catch the second day of the exhibit on Thursday, April 13, 6 – 8 p.m. at the Blossom Athletic Center (12002 Jones Maltsberger Rd).

Families and students were given the opportunity to be actively involved at the Night Gallery thanks to Red Hot Red Dot Stickers. Purchased for only 25 cents each, attendees can add these small red stickers to their favorite art pieces. All the money earned goes into a scholarship fund for NEISD art students. A handful of students’ artwork will earn the Frame Up ribbon. This special recognition means that the art piece will be on display at the District’s Central Office for a year. Many art pieces earned Teachers’ Choice blue ribbons as well.
