North East ISD Superintendent of Schools Dr. Brian G. Gottardy hosted his second Superintendent Student Luncheon of the semester with middle school students from each campus Tuesday, April 11.
Fourteen students traveled to the central office building for a catered lunch and discussion with Dr. Gottardy. Topics on the agenda included technology, bullying prevention, and what students love most about their schools. Students were also asked to share what they look forward to in high school and what worries they may have transitioning from middle school to a larger campus.
This is the fourth year Dr. Gottardy has hosted the Superintendent Student Luncheons for elementary, middle and high school students.
"This is really an awesome opportunity for us," said Tejeda student, Sophie Vadachoria. "It was an honor to be selected to represent my campus."
The middle school students shared that technology is very important to their education but surprisingly many of them shared that they would rather crack open a book to work on a report or project. They also shared that the extra-curricular activities offered at NEISD are some of their favorite things about going to school.
Madison High School culinary students catered the luncheon under the watchful supervision of Chef Lynn Rogers. Dr. Gottardy met with elementary students April 7. High school students will join him for lunch April 13.
