Redland Oaks raises money for community after tornado

Redland Oaks Elementary School raised $845.91 for the school’s local Red Cross organization to help families impacted by the February 2017 storms in our area. The school’s Student Lighthouse team spearheaded the effort. The students were motivated to help families recovering from the heavy downpour and tornadoes that touched down on Feb. 20.

The Lighthouse team was inspired to raise money knowing that there was damage to fellow NEISD elementary school, Northern Hills. The students wanted to know how they could help as many people as possible. The campus collected money by grade levels with prizes given to the top three grade levels. Students in the winning grade levels would also get to have their teachers serve lunch at the cafeteria lunch line. Congratulations to Redland Oaks for hosting such a thoughtful and inspiration fundraising campaign.
