Volunteers from Junior Achievement of South Texas spent the entire day at Montgomery Elementary School teaching students about finance and career success. Through the program, J.A. in a Day, students in grades kindergarten through fifth received a full day of interactive lessons and exercises geared toward their specific grade level. Students completed hands-on activities covering everything from making donuts in the class donut shop to deciding whether having a puppy is a “need” or a “want.”
Special thanks to Felicia Breaux, the JA Area Coordinator, for continuing to partner with our campus for this event. It is our hope that students who first experienced JA in a Day in Kindergarten at Montgomery will have received the curriculum in its entirety by the time they get to fifth grade. Montgomery Mustangs, both students, and staff enjoyed, learned from, and appreciated the 30-plus Junior Achievement volunteers who make JA in A Day a great experience for our campus.
