Book bargains are back! The 15th annual North East Council of PTAs Used Book Sale will begin Friday, April 7, with more than 80,000 books in more than 25 categories--including a HUGE children's section. The sale will be held in Littleton Gym located at Blossom Athletic Center, 12002 Jones Maltsberger Road on the following dates:

Saturday, April 8: 10 a.m. – 6 p.m.
Sunday, April 9: 11 a.m. – 4 p.m.
The book sale is the largest of its kind in the area and is not only a fundraising effort for the PTAs throughout North East ISD, but is also a community service project as prices are purposefully kept low to promote literacy in the home. Prices are as follows:
Softcover books: $0.50
Hardcover books and DVDS/CDs: $1
Sunday is Bag Sale Day. Purchase a bag for $15 and stuff to the brim with all the books that can fit. Additional bags can be purchased for $10 each.
Cash and MasterCard/Visa are accepted. Please, no checks. Admission is free.
A reader’s favorite subjects are easy to find as more than 25 book categories are represented: art, biography, business, classics/poetry/plays, comic books and graphic novels, computers, fiction, foreign language and travel, health and fitness along with self-help, history, military and politics, hobbies, how-to and crafts, horror, humor and games, music, mystery and thrillers, non-fiction, parenting and childcare, pets and animals, reference, religious and inspirational, romance, sci-fi and fantasy, sports, westerns, young adult, and CDs and DVDs.
The ENORMOUS selection of children's books is divided into board books, picture books, leveled readers, chapter books, and series books with many of these books placed at ground level so that the kids can dig around and find treasures on their own.
Also appearing at this year’s sale on Saturday, April 8, will be the Churchill High School Boys and Girls soccer teams hosting story times from 10 a.m. – 4 p.m., the NEISD Book & Bites Bus, the SA Food Bank’s Mobile Mercado selling produce under market value, Mister Softee of San Antonio, Cruisin’ Coffee, and the AM Project: an arts and digital music program, teaching young people basic arts, music theory and team building competency so that art becomes more than something that is cool.
The sale would not be possible without the help and participation of the local NEISD PTAs. All sale proceeds will fund PTA projects and benefit students throughout the District. Some of these projects include the Blossom Scholarship Fund, Arts in Education, Health Education Awareness, Alcohol and Drug Education, Project Graduations, Bike Rodeos and Earth Week.
This sale happens only once a year. Come support PTA, fill up those bookshelves for summer reading and take advantage of these fantastic bargains!
