Thousand Oaks Elementary students competed in the school’s first Academic UIL contest on March 6. Practices were held a few weeks prior to the contest preparing students for four events: Number Sense, Chess Puzzles, Spelling, and Art. At the end of the competition, students were awarded medals and certificates. Under the leadership of Principal Jenae Mai, Thousand Oaks is the latest North East Elementary to offer an Academic UIL Contest. Jenness Davidson, the campus UIL coordinator was pleased with the student participation and parent reception to the contest. She is confident the program will grow in the coming years. Congratulations to all the coaches and students for a successful meet.
