NEISD honors school lunch heroes serving healthy meals

Between preparing healthy food, adhering to strict nutrition standards, navigating student food allergies, and offering service with a smile, North East ISD nutrition professionals have a lot on their plate. To celebrate their hard work and commitment, the School Nutrition Association partnered with Jarrett Krosoczka, author of the “Lunch Lady” graphic novel series and Random House Children’s Books, to create School Lunch Hero Day, May 2.

On May 2, cafeteria staff delighted NEISD students when they dressed in super hero shirts or yellow shirts inspired by the “Lunch Lady” book series and presented book donations from the series to each elementary library. Cibolo Green Elementary Librarian, Jennifer Oldham thanked the cafeteria staff for the donation. “Our students will enjoy reading it," said Oldham. "Thank you for all the awesome work you do for us at Cibolo Green."
