Macarthur participates in cardboard kids campaign

Cardboard Kids Campaign

MacArthur thanked teacher Byron Campell for providing its Cardboard Kid.

April is National Child Abuse Awareness Month, and MacArthur High School is participating in the Cardboard Kids Campaign. The Cardboard Kids Campaign was initiated by ChildSafe to bring attention to the 5,846 children who were abused or neglected in Bexar County in 2013.

Businesses, organizations, and individuals are encouraged to decorate and display Cardboard Kids. Each cardboard display has a name tag and link for more information. The MacArthur Library has a Cardboard Kid on display near the Circulation Desk.

“It’s important to support causes that look after the well-being of our youth," said campus librarian, Janelle Richard. "These displays create an opportunity for dialogue on a critical issue in our community.”
