MacArthur ASL students offering classes to public

The MacArthur High School ASL (American Sign Language) Honor Society students will be offering free American Sign Language classes at the Brook Hollow Library every Sunday until the end of May, from 3:00 p.m. - 4:00 p.m. The Library is located at 530 Heimer Rd.

Classes are open to the public, including children. There are no limits to the amount of times you can attend, so take advantage of this great opportunity and learn a whole new language.

According to the National Association of the Deaf, leaning simple sign language is important for several reasons:

- Encourages communication in babies

- Connects families with their deaf members

- Enables communication with deaf community
