Johnson students wins big

Johnson Project Graduation

Alexis Guillory of Johnson High School accepts a $1,000 check for her school's project graduation.

Johnson High School Senior Alexis Guillory won first place and $1,000 for the Johnson Project Graduation. The contest was sponsored by TxDot and the purpose was to bring attention to underage drinking. The message from TxDot was, "Please remember Spring Break is right around the corner. TxDot and SAPD needs our help in discouraging underage drinking and supporting our kids in making good choices."

Alexis competed against 22 other high school students and was required to do a 2 minute presentation on this year's theme: "YOLO," or "You Only Live Once." Her presentation presented the following scenario:

Spring Break is right around the corner and you just can't wait to head to the coast. With no parents around you can't wait to have the time of your life - so you think. You get to the coast and the party is way more than you can handle with everyone drinking and partying. You want out. What do you do?

Johnson is very proud of Alexis and congratulates her on this latest accomplishment.
