Harmony Hills student sales artwork and donates money
Stephen Phillips is a San Antonio Youth Literacy tutor who spends several mornings a week reading with students at Harmony Hills Elementary School. During one of those visits, Phillips noticed a piece of art that was part of the Young Masters Art Show display. He was quite impressed with the entry of Kelly Schwabe, a second grader in Yolanda Van Ness’ class. He asked to own the artwork for an exchange of a donation to the charity of Kelly’s choice.
Kelly and her parents agreed and she chose the Animal Wildlife Rescue as her charity. Phillips made a $30 contribution in her name. Kelly’s artwork now hangs proudly in the Phillips' workplace.
