Coker students awarded with Slime Time
"S-L-I-M-E, Slime, Slime, Slime!" Slime, was the word of the day at Coker Elementary School, as they cheered while waiting for the arrival of Tiffany Gill, principal, and Karmen Chavez, assistant principal, on May 16. The students earned a little "Slime Time" after reaching their astounding goal of $15,000 at this year's Apex Fun Run fundraiser.
"They came up with all different kinds of ideas," said Principal Gill in regard to the reward of Slime Time. "We sent out a message to the whole community - everybody voted and slime won!" Gill has been pied in the face and even ducked taped to a wall - but this would mark the first time she would be covered in the green goop. The students are looking forward to reaching next year's fundraising goal.
