Coker dual language student's artwork is honored
Coker Elementary School third grade student, Ella Alvarez, of Juan Rodriguez’s Dual Language Classroom entered the AATSP (American Association of Teachers of Spanish and Portuguese) 2014 Poster Contest. This year's poster contest theme was “Enriquece tu vida aprendiendo otros lenguas/Enrich your life learning other languages”.
Ella won first place in the K-3 category for the AATSP chapter contest. She was honored by the San Antonio Chapter of AATSP at San Antonio College on March 29. Her poster will be competing in the national contest this April.
“Involving my dual language students in this poster contest was a great opportunity to celebrate the amazing skill of being fluent in more than one language,” said Rodriguez. “It further reinforced the benefits of being multilingual in today’s society.”
