Churchill volleyball team is tops in the state
The Churchill High School Chargers volleyball team has earned statewide respect as they put together a dominating season that took them all the way to the Class 5A state final at the Culwell Center in Garland, Texas on Nov. 23. The season came to an emotional end as the team lost 25-22, 26-24, 25-17 to the No. 1-ranked Conroe The Woodlands (45-0), but prospects could not be higher.
After setting an area record for wins this season, Churchill (47-3) won’t need to reload for next season as the team has 12 players scheduled to return for another run at the state title. The team may still be recovering from the loss, but key experienced players such as, outside hitters Abby Buckingham and BrynCaitlin Walker, middle blockers Taylor Martinez and Charline Coupet, setter Karly York and defensive specialist Monica Ramon, will be great leaders for one of the best teams in the state.
Congratulations on a fantastic season!
