Churchill seeking shoe donations to break record and donate
How many shoes do you own? Maybe you have enough shoes to fill up a closet, or maybe you have an extra pair or two that have been out of your rotation for some time.
Churchill High School faculty and staff are working to trump the current record for the longest chain of shoes at 24,962. The school's goal is to collect 30,000 shoes by April 17, with all shoes being donated to Green Sneakers and Soles4Souls.
Churchill will accept any size, design, and type of shoe with laces - designed to fit a human foot. Monetary donations are also being accepted, which will be used to buy shoes at Goodwill and the Salvation Army (these shoes will also be donated).
Interested in donating? Take your shoes or monetary donations to the Churchill High School (12049 Blanco Road) reception office. For more information or questions please call (210) 356-0079.
