Windcrest robotics team enjoys success
Windcrest Elementary School Robotics team, the "Techno-Stars", took home a qualification certificate from the regional qualifier held at Roosevelt High School for the FIRST Lego League competition on January 18.
The team spent many weeks preparing for the competition by creating their "Nature's Fury" project and skit for the judging portion of the tournament. In addition, they programmed their robot for success in the Robot Games. By the end of the competition it was evident that the Windcrest Techno-Stars were going to move onto the next level.
They placed seventh in the Robot Games and earned outstanding marks in the other areas of competition. Windcrest is proud to send its Techno-Stars to the Henry B. Convention Center on March 1, to compete at the Lego League Expo. Congratulations to Robotics Sponsor Yvette Debolt, students Alex Ramirez, Keaton Morales, Sasami Cavan, Newton Tran and Rylee Hupping, and fifth grade students at Windcrest!
