Thousand oaks teacher gets help from local girl scouts

Girl Scout Troop #2116 decided to lend a helping hand to Thousand Oaks Elementary School's Amy Rose and her specialized support class. The troop collected broken crayons from the children at at the campus and after peeling off the paper the girls put the crayons in several different molds.

The filled molds were put in the oven to melt the crayons and were popped out of the mold to dry. The Girl Scouts then gave Rose's specialized support class a decorated box full of crayons. The students in Roses's class are able to easily grasp and color with these chunky and ergonomic crayons.
