Tejeda students receive visual arts recognition
The YWCA of San Antonio has selected two Tejeda Middle School students as part of the top 12 finalists for the 3rd Annual Stand Against Racism: Celebrate Diversity Art Contest. The purpose of the contest is to raise awareness amongst San Antonio youth that racism and injustice still exist and that together we can silence the voices of those who promote hate.
Tejeda would like to congratulate sixth grader, Andrea Dominguez and seventh grader, Taylor Dickson for being selected as two of the top 12 finalists out of over 140 entries which is an outstanding achievement. Their work will be featured in the 2015 YWCA Stand Against Racism Calendar.
Andrea and Taylor will be recognized for their work in a ceremony held on Wednesday, April 23 at the YWCA Olga Madrid Community Center.
