Roosevelt students place top ten at TSA conference

The 2013 National Technology Student Association Conference was held in Orlando, Florida from June 28-July 2 at the Rosen Shingle Creek Resort. More than 5,500 students from across the United States, Turkey and Germany were in attendance. North East ISD was represented by 25 students from the Engineering & Technologies Academy and 1 from the Design & Technologies Academy, all members of the Technology Student Association (TSA) at Roosevelt High School.

The students competed in the areas of Architectural Renovation, Career Comparison, Engineering Design, Structural Engineering, VEX Robotics, Photographic Technology, Dragster Design, Chapter Team, Transportation Modeling, On Demand Video, Biotechnology Design, Flight Endurance, Promotional Graphics, Technical Sketching & Applications, Fashion Design and Technology Problem Solving.

Holly Adams, Allison Bain, Anthony Brown, Edmundo Colorado, Jamie Gallegos, Larry Harris, Megan Hernandez, Nina Hudson, Kamarin Leonen, Claire Marshall, Fabiola McDaniel, Manuel Navarro, Adeniji Ogunlana, Fernando Ortiz-Torres, Jasmine Perez, Jerry Perez-Roach, Curtis Roberds, Mitchell Roberts, Christian Sifuentes, Anh Tran, Zachary Vahle, Abram Wallick, Breonna Washington, Brian Welsh, Blake Wilkinson and Daniel Yun.

Big winners at TSA Conference.

Anthony Brown, Blake Wilkinson (pictured left) and Spensor Johnson (did not attend) placed top 5 out of 67 teams in Engineering Design. Jaime Gallegos placed 4 out of 94 individuals in Photographic Technology and Fernando Ortiz-Torres placed top 4 out of 57 individuals in Transportation Modeling.
