Regency Place student has holiday wish come true

present opening

Jonathen was speechless after finding out his Christmas wish had been granted by Santa.

When Jonathen Rodriguez Garcia wrote about his good deeds and his Christmas wish during the H-E-B Tree Lighting Ceremony on Nov. 29, he had no idea if Santa would have time to read his letter. On Dec. 19, donning a Santa hat, Katherine Crabtree of H-E-B entered second grade teacher Laura Randolph’s classroom to grant his wish.

The entire class was surprised with holiday treats and Jonathen received a special gift for being a good boy this year. One student’s belief in Santa was confirmed as she exclaimed, “You see! Santa is real!” Each of the kids had the chance to reach into a big holiday bag and pull a prize. Jonathen received a holiday children’s book and a toy helicopter from Santa. Jonathen's mom, Janette, was there to take plenty of photos.

Regency Place also received a special gift as they were surprised with $500 to put towards school supplies. These holiday deliveries are a way for H-E-B to give back to the community in hopes of providing a happier holiday to youth throughout the city.

Jonathen and class

H-E-B representatives, Laura Randolph (Top Center) and H-E-B representatives gather around Jonathen and his fellow classmates after the big surprise.
