Redland oaks celebrates 6th annual m - art- i gras event

The Redland Oaks Elementary PTA will present their 6th annual m-ART-i Gras event on Jan. 31, 2012. m-ART-i Gras is our school wide celebration of the PTA’s Art Appreciation Program which provides art supplies and classroom support for all classes, pre-kindergarten through 5th grade. The evening begins with a catered dinner served in the cafeteria from 6:15 to 7 p.m.

 

Entertainment will be provided by the Driscoll Middle School Jazz Band. Flyers and order forms will be sent home with students and parents, and are asked to return them as soon as possible for dinner reservations. Art begins at 7 p.m. and runs until 8 p.m. Students, parents and siblings will be able to try their hand at projects that are featured in daily art classes. There will be an opportunity to work with clay. All pieces will be glazed, fired and later returned. Clay that has already been fired will be available for watercolor painting.

Other stations will involve mask making, wire beading and a creative drawing station. The stations will be set up in both of the schools gymnasiums and all art is FREE! Volunteers from Mac Arthur High School PALS, Driscoll NJHS students, and Redland Oaks own faculty, staff and PTA will be on hand to help guide participants in the creation of their masterpieces.
