Reagan art students advance to state vase competition

On February 22, 117 works of art created by Reagan High School students competed in the Region 20 West Visual Art Scholastic Event (VASE). Of the 117 works entered, 108 received a “4” rating – the highest possible rating at the regional level. Additionally, ten student works were selected to advance to the state event in April. The names of the state qualifiers are:

- Lauren Trexler
- Niva Shrestha
- Sage Tuchsen
- Mariana McQueen
- Madeline Fraizer
- Alex Gilpin- 2 pieces
- Chris Duff
- Natalia Elizondo
- Melvin Moore

With more than 1000 works entered in the Region 20 West event, only 7% of the total entries advance to the state event; making this a huge accomplishment and honor for Reagan students. Keep an eye on the NEISD website for state results, and don’t forget to put Night Gallery (April 8th and 9th) on your calendars.
