Reagan's Aquatic Team celebrating big win
Congratulations to the Reagan High School Aquatic Team after a fantastic showing at the District Championship. The Rattlers captured the District Championship winning by 94 more points than its closest competitor Churchill High School. The Boys Team dominated and repeated as District Champions while the Girls Team captured 3rd place. All swimmers and divers did a great job with many moving on to Regionals.
A congats goes out to The Boys 200 Medley, 200 Free and 400 Freestyle Relay’s sweeping all three events. Individual champions include Alex Garriga in the 200 Individual Medley and 100 butterfly; Cole McAnany in the 50 Freestyle and 100 Backstroke; Joseph Tak in the 200 Freestyle; and Zach Yeadon in the 500 Freestyle.
Nathan Gonzales was District Champion and named Diver Athlete of the Meet while setting a facility record and District Record defeating his Diving Coaches (Alex Vollelunga) record which stood for 14 years. Additionally, Alex Garriga was named Swimming Athlete of the Meet.
On the Girls end, Kendall O’Kane was District Champion in the 100 Backstroke and the 200 and 400 Freestyle Relay’s qualified for Regionals with a 3rd and 2nd place respectively. Ashley Johnson, was District Champion in Diving and also named Female Diver of the Meet.
The boys and girls will be moving on geared up to defend their combined team title of Regional Champions while the Boys team will be focused on keeping that Boys Team Regional Championship trophy for another year.
The Regional Championship Meet will take place at BAC at the Josh Davis Pool beginning at 4:30 p.m. this Friday and at 3:30 p.m. on Saturday.
