nimitz hosts regional robotics Tournament


DATE: Dec. 3
TIME: 8:30 am - 3 pm
LOCATION: Auditorium, Nimitz ms, 5624 Blanco rd

Nimitz Middle School, Alamo FIRST Region and the Texas Institute for Educational Robotics will hold a qualifying FIRST LEGO League (FLL)robotics competition at Nimitz Middle School on Dec. 3, 2011 from 9 AM – 3 PM.

 

FLL introduces younger students through 8th grade to real-world engineering challenges by building LEGO-based robots to complete tasks on a thematic playing surface. FLL teams, guided by their imaginations and adult coaches, discover exciting career possibilities and, through the process, learn to make positive contributions to society. Teams get to:

þ Design, build and program robots using LEGO MINDSTORMS technology
þ Apply real-world math and science concepts
þ Research challenges facing today's scientists
þ Learn critical thinking, team-building and presentation skills
þ Participate in tournaments and celebrations

The FIRST LEGO League competition is free and open to everyone.
