White hosts first ever 5K Fun Run, followed by Eagle Fest

TIME: 7:45 a.m. (registration) 8:30 a.m. (race begins), 10 a.m. - 2 p.m. (Eagle Fest)
LOCATION: White MS, 7800 Midcrown

White Middle School will host its first ever 5K Fun Run on Saturday, May 12. Registration begins at 7:45 a.m. and the race starts at 8:30 a.m. The school's annual Eagle Fest will kick off at 10 a.m, and will include food and game booths, as well as a Health Fair.

Complete a Registration Form to participate in the 5K Fun Run. Registration costs $7.

The course will begin at White, wind through the neighborhood and finish back at White’s Eagle Fest celebration. An awards ceremony will be held after completion of the race in the school's cafeteria. Top winners from two age groups of racers will be awarded (18 and over, under 18) for 3 categories (Runners, Joggers and Walkers). Every participant will receive a race t-shirt and prize bag that will include many goodies from local businesses.

City Year will also be on site performing a service project at the school. City Year is a non-profit Americorps organization on the campus aimed at helping disadvantaged youth in the San Antonio community. That day, they will revamp the outside tennis/basketball courts. Students and families are encouraged to help paint and remodel this recreational area from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.
