wetmore collects cents for sandy relief

The Student Council at Wetmore Elementary School sponsored a two-week campaign to raise money for Hurricane Sandy victims. To help promote their campaign, signs were posted throughout the hallways. Every morning, students would place their cents in banks in their classrooms. Student Council members gave speeches during morning announcements promoting different topics on giving. The “cents” were counted and Wetmore was able to donate $875 to the American Red Cross of San Antonio for supplies to be purchased and sent to the East Coast. Our students learned many valuable lessons as each cent was collected throughout our school.
