Churchill students teleconference with White House

Students in Robin Morriss' first period video technology/broadcasting class at Churchill High School participated in a conference call with the White House on Wednesday, Mar. 3. The call was hosted by U. S. Secretary of Education Arne Duncan for high school students and journalists to discuss President Obama's Commencement Challenge and the Administration's education reform agenda. Secretary Duncan took a handful of questions as the class listened to students from around the country.

"It is exciting to be a part of the conference call," said Morriss. "We had several questions lined-up to ask, but ran out of time. We are going to participate in the President's Commencement Challenge to highlight the hard work Churchill has done toward academic excellence and college readiness for our students."

Churchill ranks in the top one percent of all high schools according to Newsweek Magazine, and they have more than 1,900 AP tests administered. Principal Jeff Vaughan's focus is on "Every Kid, Every Day."
