tejeda students open neisd board meeting
Two outstanding students from Tejeda Middle School were invited to begin the Regular Board of Trustee Meeting of the North East ISD on Dec. 10, 2012.
Eighth-grade students Meredith Floyd and Nick Siebert shared a book excerpt and lead the Pledge of Allegiance for board members, executive staff and guests in attendance.
They were introduced by their Principal Brenda Shelton and accompanied by their parents Rick and Cheryl Floyd, and Scott and Ginger Siebert.
Meredith has been involved with the Young Historians and UIL. She excels in spelling and is a student leader at Tejeda. She read an excerpt from "Heart of a Teacher" by Paula Fox.
Nick is also a student leader, excels in academics, participates in the orchestra and plays sports. He led the board and guests in the pledge.
Afterward, they were presented with a certificate of appreciation from board member Shannon Grona for their participation at the meeting and for their outstanding achievements.
