NEISD Teachers surprised with $124,000 in grants

The "Prize Patrol" was out in full force throughout North East ISD granting teachers' wishes Wednesday, May 22. Seven teams of directors from the North East Educational Foundation (NEEF) awarded 25 grants to teachers at 20 elementary and middle schools.

The teachers were shocked, surprised, and excited to see the teams walk in with balloons and giant checks.

This year’s winners applied for grants for their reading programs, math resources, musical instrument replacement, and learning labs.

The North East Educational Foundation is a private non-profit charitable corporation that works to raise money to expand educational opportunities for the students of North East ISD. NEEF hosts a celebrity golf tournament, galas, and other events to raise funds to grant teachers money for their projects.
