Superintendent hosts Elementary students for lunch
From STAAR testing to unicycle teams, students representing half of the NEISD elementary schools shared what makes their campus special with Dr. Brian G. Gottardy, Superintendent of Schools.
The very talkative group of students was invited to the Superintendent Student Luncheon on Thursday, April 25.
Students said they were very focused on the STAAR testing this spring, and they felt very prepared. The students were anxious to get their results back.
One by one, students shared what they loved most about their schools. Most of them enjoyed all the extracurricular activities that were unique to their campus: robotics team, unicycle club, Lighthouse committee, and all the family events.
The students, most of them fifth graders, said they were a little nervous about moving on to middle school.
Dr. Gottardy had lunch with students from each high school and middle school in April.
