Superintendent message regarding school safety

Superintendents Header

Dear Friend,

The past two days have been a stark reminder of the importance of safety and security for our students and staff.

We were all concerned and saddened by the actions taken by a Madison student on Monday, as well as an anonymous threat directed to the campus on Tuesday.

I am happy to share that school administration, as well as district and local police worked together to ensure that the situations on both days were quickly contained and no one was hurt in the process.

The district has specific measures in place to ensure that every threat is thoroughly investigated and that students are protected. I want to thank all of the administrators, teachers and staff who worked together to ensure that protocols were followed and students were secure at all times.

I also thank all of our parents for their patience and understanding during this difficult situation. It is stressful and we understand your worry. We take the trust you place in us very seriously, as well as the responsibility we have to keep your children safe.

Sincerely,

Brian G. Gottardy, Ed.D.
