schools help Toys for Tots, Canyon Ridge collects 1,770 toys

Canyon Ridge Elementary students once again demonstrated their virtues of compassion and generosity by donating 1,770 new toys in Welcome Home Newspaper's Stone Oak Toys for Tots Challenge. Canyon Ridge has been named the winner for the fourth consecutive year by donating over half of the 3,000 toys collected by Stone Oak area schools. Other NEISD schools participating and showing their acts of kindness and generosity include Hardy Oak, Wilderness Oak, Stone Oak, Roan Forest, Bush and Johnson High School.

On December 7, Marines visited the schools to pick-up the donations. At Canyon Ridge, students gathered to greet the Marines, sang holiday songs as they arrived, and thanked them for their service to our country.

"Our Canyon Ridge student leaders are truly an inspiration this holiday season," said Leigh Anne Roeber, teacher. "A huge Coyote howl to the Canyon Ridge community for this accomplishment!"
